Child Psychotherapy
Sometimes children are faced with challenges that contribute to prolonged feelings of sadness, worry, or anger.
Parents often consider taking their child to see a psychotherapist when they notice changes in behaviors at home and school. l see children beginning at age ten.
When working with children from a depth psychological perspective, it is important to provide a safe and nurturing environment. I work with children to explore their internal experiences, feelings, and thoughts at their own pace.
I provide play therapy, creative expression through art, and sandplay therapy. These therapeutic methods assist children to externalize their internal struggles, develop coping mechanisms, and foster self-awareness. Through this process, children can gain insight into their unconscious dynamics, heal emotional wounds, and build resilience for navigating life's challenges.
I believe it is essential to meet on a regular basis with parents. I have found that this is helpful to understand any changes that may be occurring at home and school. These interactions occur for up to twenty minutes at the beginning of each session.
I am happy to discuss any further questions about my practice during our 15-minute initial phone consultation. Contact me today to schedule an appointment.
