Brian E. Kennedy-Arenivar, LMHC

My name is Brian E. Kennedy-Arenivar, I consider myself to be a compassionate and non-judgmental psychotherapist. I provide everyone with a safe and supportive space to explore their thoughts, feelings, and life experiences. I have always been told that I am a good listener and people consistently tell me that they feel comfortable opening up to me.

I see children, adolescents, and adults for individual therapy. I also provide couples therapy for those seeking to repair, heal, or deepen their relationship. I specialize in working with people experiencing: anxiety, depression, life adjustments, relationship issues, men’s issues, trauma, ADHD, autism, grief, substance usage, work-related stressors, and creative blocks.

I am an ally of the LGBTQIA+ community, and I have extensive experience working with adults, adolescents, and children who identify as trans. I am also a member of WPATH.

My approach is grounded in Depth Psychology, specifically, Analytical Psychology. I am currently an analyst in training with the C.G. Jung Institute of New York. I also have several years of intensive training in Jungian Sandplay Therapy.

I have been licensed as a psychotherapist since 2009, and have been in private practice since 2015. I have over twenty years combined experience working with diverse populations in outpatient clinics, schools, hospitals, and treatment centers. My practice is located in the Flatiron District of New York City.

If you are seeking a therapist who will provide unwavering support, respect, and empowerment on your journey of self-discovery and personal growth, then I invite you to reach out and take the first step towards creating positive change in your life.

Fees for Services

I am not credentialed with insurance companies. I am considered an out-of-network provider. Contact your insurance company to determine if your plan includes out-of-network benefits. All insurance plans are different. However, most will require a deductible to be met prior to receiving reimbursement. If needed, I will provide you with a monthly statement (superbill) for you to submit to your insurance carrier for possible reimbursement for out-of-network benefits. I do not submit claims on behalf of patients for out-of-network benefits. Please note that a diagnosis is required to be placed on a superbill.

Please contact your insurance provider to determine your out-of-network benefits prior to initiating services.
